WHAT IS THE ORTO COMUNE?
The Orto Comune connects XFarm to consumers by allowing citizens to become members of the project and actively participate in creating jobs and producing food in a sustainable and supportive way.
The Orto Comune of XFARM aims to gather families from the area who finance production through a subscription, guaranteeing the regular supply of fresh, seasonal, and organic vegetables at affordable prices.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The seasonal budget for the necessary production costs is divided equally among the members and paid upon registration to cover investment and management expenses. The Orto Comune is managed by XFARM farmers with the help of volunteers and activists.
Vegetables are distributed weekly among the participating members at a pickup point agreed upon with XFARM farmers. It is also possible to request home delivery for an additional 3 euros per box. Each member can also participate in the social and cultural activities of the Orto Comune: field Sundays, activities for children, shared harvesting, horticulture lessons, and more.
Ten percent of the total production from the community garden is donated to charitable and solidarity networks in collaboration with local volunteer associations.
